1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Readible ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

2. Description of Service

Readible is a reading application that allows you to:

• Import and read EPUB books, PDFs, web articles, text, and images
• Optionally connect to Amazon's Kindle website to import books available to your own Amazon account
• Listen with on-device or cloud text-to-speech
• Organize and manage your reading library
• Search, highlight, annotate, and track reading progress
• Use a playback queue and background audio
• Discover articles and books based on selected interests
• Customize the reader, voices, and playback experience

3. Account Registration

3.1 Account Creation

To use certain features of the App, you must create an account by signing in with Google or Apple. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

3.2 Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time through the App. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. User Content and Responsibilities

4.1 Your Content

You retain any ownership or license rights you already hold in content you import. Readible does not grant you ownership of third-party books, documents, images, or articles. You are solely responsible for:

• Ensuring you have the legal right to access and use the content
• Respecting copyright and intellectual property rights
• The legality of the content in your jurisdiction

4.2 Prohibited Uses

You agree NOT to use the App to:

• Infringe on any third party's intellectual property rights
• Distribute pirated or illegally obtained content
• Circumvent digital rights management, access controls, account restrictions, or technical protections
• Share, publish, or redistribute imported content unless you have permission
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Use the App for any illegal purpose
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality
• Transmit malware, viruses, or harmful code

5. Intellectual Property

5.1 Our Property

The App, including its design, features, code, and branding, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not:

• Copy, modify, or distribute the App
• Use our trademarks without permission
• Create derivative works based on the App

5.2 Third-Party Content

The App may display links, metadata, excerpts, or user-selected content from third-party sources. We do not claim ownership of that content and are not responsible for its availability, accuracy, legality, or the policies of its provider.

6. Optional Kindle Connection

Kindle import is an optional connection to Amazon's website. It requires an Amazon account controlled by you and books available to that account. Readible is not created, sponsored, authorized, or endorsed by Amazon. Kindle is a trademark of Amazon Technologies, Inc.

You agree to use the connection only for content you are authorized to access and in compliance with Amazon's terms and applicable law. Readible does not sell Kindle books, provide an Amazon account, or guarantee that Amazon's website, authentication, rendering system, or content will remain compatible. Amazon may change or disable those services at any time, and Readible may modify or discontinue the connection in response.

7. Text-to-Speech and Content Processing

The App includes text-to-speech functionality. You understand that:

• Voice synthesis quality may vary
• Some content may not be suitable for audio conversion
• The service requires an internet connection for certain features
• On-device voices may require a one-time model download before local synthesis is available
• Cloud processing sends selected text or files to service providers as described in the Privacy Policy
• Usage is subject to the limits of your current plan

8. Subscriptions and Payments

8.1 Free, Pro, and Premium Features

Readible offers free functionality and may offer auto-renewing Pro and Premium subscriptions. Features, quotas, and usage periods are shown in the App and App Store purchase screen. Current plans may limit cloud text-to-speech, video generation, and Kindle imports. Free and Pro currently include one newly acquired Kindle import per calendar month; Premium currently includes unlimited Kindle imports, subject to service availability and abuse prevention.

8.2 Billing and Renewal

Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and automatically renew unless canceled through the applicable store. The price, billing period, trial terms if any, and renewal information displayed by the store at purchase control your transaction.

8.3 Cancellation and Account Deletion

You may cancel your subscription through your device's subscription settings. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Deleting your Readible account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription; you must cancel it separately through the store.

8.4 Refunds

Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google according to their respective policies.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

• Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of profits, data, or goodwill
• Service interruption or data loss
• Any damages exceeding the amount you paid for the App in the past 12 months

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the App
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third party's rights
• Content you import or share through the App

12. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with third-party services including:

• Google Sign-In and Apple Sign-In for authentication
• Firebase and Google Cloud for app infrastructure, analytics, diagnostics, and selected processing
• RevenueCat, Apple, and Google for subscriptions and entitlements
• Amazon for the optional Kindle website connection
• DeepInfra and other disclosed providers for cloud text-to-speech
• Hugging Face for downloadable on-device voice models
• Google Gemini for requested recommendations or AI-assisted features
• Cloudflare and Google email services for support communications

Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

13. Changes to the App

We reserve the right to:

• Modify or discontinue features at any time
• Update the App to fix bugs or add features
• Change pricing for premium features with notice

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your jurisdiction applies. Disputes will be resolved by a court with competent jurisdiction in India unless applicable law requires another forum.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

16. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the App.

If you are using the App on an Apple device:

• These Terms are between you and us, not Apple
• Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support
• Apple is not responsible for any claims related to the App
• Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms
