Privacy Policy

Last Updated: August 17, 2026

Summary: Readible helps you read and listen to articles, documents, images, and books. Most imported content stays on your device. We use account, subscription, diagnostic, quota, analytics, and selected content-processing data to operate requested features, prevent abuse, personalize Discover, and improve reliability. We do not sell your personal information or use your reading content for third-party advertising.

1. Introduction

Welcome to Readible ("we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use the Readible mobile application, website, and related services (together, the "App").

Some reading features run locally on your device. Other features, such as cloud text-to-speech, PDF parsing, recommendations, subscription and import quota enforcement, and video generation, require cloud processing. When a feature sends content to a cloud service, we use that content to provide the feature you requested.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account and Authentication Information

2.2 Subscription, Quota, and Purchase Information

2.3 Reading Content and Imported Files

2.4 Diagnostics, Analytics, and Device Information

2.5 Information We Do Not Sell or Intentionally Collect

3. How We Use Information

We use information to:

4. Data Storage and Retention

4.1 Local Storage

Many parts of your reading library are stored on your device, including imported files, Kindle book text and images, extracted articles, annotations, bookmarks, reading and listening history, progress, settings, cached audio, generated clips, and downloaded content. You can delete individual items in the App. Local data is also removed when the App removes the corresponding user library during account deletion, or when you uninstall the App, subject to device backup behavior controlled by your operating system.

4.2 Cloud Storage

Account, subscription, entitlement, quota, usage-history, Discover preference, diagnostic, and selected feature-processing records may be stored in Firebase, RevenueCat, Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, or related service infrastructure. Temporary processing data is retained only as needed to complete and troubleshoot the requested operation. Account and service records are retained while your account is active and for limited periods afterward when needed for security, fraud prevention, financial records, legal obligations, or reliable deletion workflows.

4.3 Account Deletion

You can request account deletion in the App. The deletion workflow removes your Firebase Auth account, user document, user-scoped preferences, usage history, Kindle reservations and account quota records, and the local user library. It also removes user-linked device contribution records. Anonymous or one-way-hashed device enforcement totals, purchase records held by Apple or RevenueCat, security logs, and backup records may remain where necessary for fraud prevention, legal compliance, financial recordkeeping, or system integrity. Account deletion does not cancel an App Store subscription.

5. Third-Party Services and Sharing

We share information with service providers only as needed to operate the App and provide requested features. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, to investigate abuse, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.

6. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including HTTPS/TLS, platform authentication, Firebase security rules, scoped backend tokens, and limited access to production systems. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Choices and Rights

7.1 Access, Correction, and Deletion

You may access or update some account, subscription, settings, and library information in the App. You may delete imported content and request account deletion through the App or by contacting us.

7.2 Account Deletion Steps

  1. Open Readible.
  2. Go to Settings or the account area.
  3. Select "Delete Account."
  4. Confirm deletion when prompted.

7.3 Analytics and Communications

You can contact us to ask privacy questions, object to analytics or other processing where applicable, or make a privacy request. Necessary messages related to your account, subscriptions, security, privacy request, or support may still be sent. If Readible introduces optional promotional email in the future, this policy and the relevant privacy disclosures will be updated before that processing begins.

8. International Data Transfers

We and our service providers may process information in countries other than your own. These countries may have privacy laws that differ from those in your jurisdiction.

9. Children's Privacy

Readible is not intended for children under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

10. California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, and opt out of certain uses of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise rights, contact us at privacy@readible.net.

11. European and UK Privacy Rights

If you are in the EEA, UK, India, or a similar jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, withdraw consent to, or port your personal data. You may also have the right to complain to the relevant authority. To exercise rights, contact us at privacy@readible.net.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date above and post the updated policy at this URL.
